Meet our team
Dr. Avni Rampersaud is from Alexandria, Virginia. She first moved to the Triangle to attend Duke University. She graduated from Duke with a B.A. in English. She then attended the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. She completed two additional years of specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC. In 2007, Dr. Avni Rampersaud achieved Diplomate Status as a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Rampersaud is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Pediatric Dentistry at UNC. She maintains a hospital staff appointment at University of North Carolina Hospitals.
Dr. Avni Rampersaud resides in Durham with her husband, Edward, who works at Duke University Medical Center, and her daughter, Saia and son, Milan.
DR. JINA KANG YOO Dr. Jina Kang Yoo is from South Carolina and moved to North Carolina in 2008. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Furman University in Greenville, SC where she majored in East Asian studies. Upon graduating from Furman University, she spent one year teaching english in China. Since then, Dr. Kang has traveled to Asia, Latin America, and Africa providing free dental care to various underserved communities. She received her DMD from the Medical University of South Carolina and is a graduate of the UNC Pediatric Dental residency program. She received her Masters in Science, Pediatric Dental Certificate, and Global Public Health Certificate during her residency. Upon graduating from UNC, Dr. Jina Kang Yoo worked as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UNC Dept. of Pediatric Dentistry and continues to serve as Adjunct Assistant Professor. Dr. Jina married Lawrence Yoo in April 2012 and they reside in Durham. Lawrence is an Associate Pastor at North Raleigh United Methodist Church. Meet our Staff
